ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE

To ensure full environmental compliance throughout our works, in line with current legislation, we directly employ a team of Environmental Consultants who have advised on some of London’s largest remediation schemes including The Millennium Dome, The Emirates Stadium, Crossrail, The Shard, Chelsea Barracks and more recently HS2.

RAPID MEASURE TECHNOLOGY

The QED Rapid Test Analyser software provides accurate and immediate analysis of contaminants such as Hydrocarbons, Coal Tar, Heavy Metals, Chlorinated Solvents, Sulphate, Chloride and many others.

This investment allows us to significantly reduce the volume of Hazardous waste that has to be removed from site.

CONTAMINATED SOILS LANDFILL DIVERSION

On the 1st April 2025 the landfill tax for Hazardous Waste will rise for a twentieth consecutive year to £126.15 per tonne. This means that an average 18t tipper load of Hazardous Muck Away will cost £2,270.70 in landfill tax alone – this figure does NOT include the disposal cost of tipping, nor the haulage cost for transporting the material from site to source.

We have partnered with multiple fixed waste treatment facilities across the UK, resulting in 100% of the soil being re-used for restoration, waste to energy, or other environmental betterment works.

All of our disposal sites are exempt from additional landfill tax costs.

ASBESTOS CONTAMINATION

Historically, the three most commonly used Asbestos minerals are Crocidolite (blue asbestos), Amosite (brown asbestos) and Chrysotile (white asbestos). Through a combination of wide spread use, lazy demolition practices and poor waste management, the end result has been asbestos containing materials (ACM’s) being present in the made ground and soils of many brownfield sites across the country.

We are one of the only companies in the South East that can process Asbestos Contaminated Soil, as opposed to taking it directly to landfill.

Across the business our team is able to undertake both licensed and unlicensed Asbestos removal works and so can offer hand picking operations on sites where the Asbestos is fragmental.

Our alternative solution are landfill tax exempt, and come with a comprehensive duty of care trail in full accordance with EA guidelines and legislation.

NON HAZARDOUS SOILS

During 2023 alone we recovered over 750,000 tonnes of Non Hazardous soil from our sites. This statistic means that our clients had more value on their projects and less impact on the environment.

All of our Recycling Centres are licensed to accept and recycle Non Hazardous soils.

SOIL TESTING & VALIDATION SAMPLING

We offer all of our clients the option of having us undertake analytical waste classification of their spoil which is to be recovered or removed. The reports can be tailored to meet specific requirements and can be turned around in 5-7 working days on average. This service is included as standard on all remediation packages, made available via our online portal.
